Haeger Pottery:
In 1871, David H. Haeger began Haeger Pottery in Dundee Illinois.
1871 was the year of the Great Chicago Fire and Haeger was, in some way, a part of the restoration process by shipping bricks for rebuilding the city.
Edmond H. Haeger took over where David H. left off in 1900 but brought new vision to the firm and in 1914, the firm started producing artware pottery.
Hiring Royal Arden Hickman as an art designer in 1934 would be significant for the firm.
From 1938 to 1944, Royal Haeger pottery was produced. Royal A. left the firm in 1950 (if my memory serves correct).
This centuries old firm has always been blessed with family throughout it's history and continues to make art and utilitarian pottery today!
